THE PROJECT
DRESSING OURSELVES is an exhibition that brings together key figures from the world of the arts including architecture, design, music and fine arts, who are renowned on an international level.
The contributors were asked to design an outfit that best reflected themselves, an item of clothing that would, in a sense, be a self-portrait.
The designs received formed the basis for a collection of clothes displayed on glass resin sculptures which represent the artists in real scale and form part of an exhibition that is set to travel around the globe.
THE CONCEPT
DRESSING OURSELVES offers a stimulating journey in the universe of contemporary creativity in which languages tend always to mix and interact with each other. The clothes produced act as multi-dimensional self-portraits and representations of how these individuals chose to portray themselves to the external world.
Furthermore 'Dressing Ourselves' offers a window onto a possible future where the merging of boundaries between disciplines and the amalgamation of subjects and materials results in new and unexpected perspectives.
