Un Studio

In 1988 Ben van Berkel, with Caroline Bos, founded an architect studio in Amsterdam that produced the project for the Karbouw office building, the Erasmus bridge in Rotterdam, the Het Valkhof Museum in Nijmegen, Moebius’ house and the NMR structures for the University of Utrecht. In 1998 Ben van Berkel and Caroline Bos founded a new company, UN Studio (United Net). UN Studio describes itself as a network of specialists in architecture, urban planning and infrastructures.
Work in progress includes the renovation of the Arnhem train station area, a new Mercedes Benz Museum in Stuttgart (Germany), a concert hall in Graz (Austria), and the design and renovation of the Ponte Parodi at the port of Genoa.
Ben van Berkel has held conferences and lectures in many schools of architecture around the world. He is currently Professor of Conceptual Design at the Staedelschule in Frankfurt am Main.
The crux of his teaching is an integrated approach to architectural works, including the virtual and material organization and the handling of building works.
